The Medical Foundation/Bluesand Foundation Scholarship for Alzheimer’s Disease Research

Through the support of the Medical Foundation and The Bluesand Foundation, the Sydney Medical School at the University of Sydney is offering a scholarship towards a higher degree by research for a suitably qualified candidate undertaking research in the area of Alzheimer's Disease.

The scholarship is available for a candidate who has been accepted for full-time study within the Sydney Medical School at the University of Sydney. Please see the Sydney Medical School website for further information on the School, its facilities and collaborations.

Commencing early in 2009, the scholarship is open to Australian or overseas graduates of outstanding academic merit, for research leading to a research degree. To be eligible candidates must have completed the equivalent of an Australian Bachelor degree and be either Australian citizens or permanent residents, or citizens of New Zealand. Preference will be given to the applicant who can provide evidence of significant research potential as demonstrated by, for example, research publications.

The scholarship, funded through the Medical Foundation, offers a stipend of $20,000 for one year with the opportunity to apply for funds for the second year. It is expected that applicants will seek funds to complete their research project in subsequent year(s).
